What is Traditional Timber Framing?

I'm Noah Bradley... founder of Handmade Houses... and a career builder for many decades.

When the time came for me to discover the best that timber framing had to offer... I chose to focus my attention on studying the timber-framed structures that were built at a time, and a place, in history when the craft of timber-framing had reached its perfection.

And then there the joinery... you can build a timber frame home, having never done so before. It is easy to get carried away with overly-complex joinery... often the simplest method is best.

My method of timber framing also requires fewer individuals to assemble the home. It is possible for a single individual to build and erect a timber frame... it's certainly easier with a helper or a small team... but you don't need a nearby village or a hundred of your best friends to get your home built.
